The Playmaker

SPONSORED ARTICLE:

If you want to be a frontrunner, you have to understand how the lifestyles, needs and conditions of your users are changing. In the new, digital world, this is called “Level Up”. Vauth-Sagel is staging this other, new dimension with the trade fair concept of the same name at this year‘s Interzum. More modularity and modularity in the transitions of living, more comfort in the accessibility of inaccessible space, more design for a consistent look that also delivers what is promised from the outside, more service for the best possible digital connection and performance of our partners are the quality cornerstones on which the clou of the concept stands.
Because the booth of the well-known supplier company is not only virtual, but interactive with a personal touch according to the Vauth-Sagel DNA. All visitors slip into the role of an avatar and thus experience the product innovations interactively and by means of gamification. This means: climb the next level “playfully” with Vauth-Sagel and thus be right at the forefront.
“In the run-up to the trade fair, we gave a lot of thought to the question of what is the right way to be able to present our personal brand DNA, and the special innovative capacity in the digital space,” says Managing Director Claus Sagel.

The result is a gamification module. For the entire Vauth-Sagel family of industry partners, specialist dealers, craftsmen, planners and designers, the process is the same as always – only virtual. Register, make check-in appointments for direct contact, individual product demonstrations – everything is possible in person, as always. “This will be an exciting trade fair experience for all of us, and we have learned that digital can also have real advantages. We want to communicate these to our visitors,” Claus Sagel continues.
At the heart of this are product innovations across all living spaces. Vauth-Sagel approaches this systematically. From the inside out. The finest building blocks for uncompromising interior organization set standards not only on the inside. Design does not stop at the interior. Inside and outside stand in a unique, timeless design alliance.
Another brand essence underscores the core competence in comfort: How cool would it be if the contents of a wall unit in the kitchen could be reached not only on tiptoe and without effort? With VS TOP Down, that’s possible. The unique drop-down fitting sets standards for ergonomic storage space optimization in the wall unit.
The multiple award-winning VS SUB Comfort also offers a glimpse of comfort systems for the lower storage levels in the living room and bathroom.
The new homepage with the future 24/7 retailer portal, an exclusive selection of “podium speakers” at this year’s Interzum show that the experts for living spaces will implement the most modern world leading trade fair in the company’s history. Or is, for example, the guest speaker Felix Finkbeiner with his initiative “Plant for the planet” not an absolutely clear statement? And if Vauth-Sagel then also ensures that a tree is planted for every active trade fair visitor – then everyone will once again be a frontrunner and the circle will be closed when it is called Level up at VS Live!

The Vauth-Sagel novelties can be seen and virtually experienced after registration from 04-07 May 2021.

Construction projects in Schopfloch and Środa – largest investment in the company’s history

The Homag Group has launched the largest investment program in its corporate history. Over the next three years, €60 to €80 million are to be invested in the modernization of the main location in Schopfloch. Homag is investing a further €15 million in a new plant in Poland.

A customer center, modern office buildings, a modern dining hall and a logistics center are to be built in Schopfloch. Ralf W. Dieter, CEO of Homag Group AG: “The two older office buildings as well as the dining hall in Schopfloch are no longer up to date and would have to be extensively renovated. We have now decided on a sustainable solution and are building entirely new structures. This is a clear commitment to our location and an important investment in the future of Homag. On the one hand, we are creating a modern and pleasant working environment for our employees. On the other hand, we will be able to present our products to customers appropriately in the new customer center.”

There are also plans to build a new logistics center connected to the site. The goals are a high availability of spare parts as well as lean and efficient logistics processes for supplying the plant and customers. The new logistics center will also replace the remaining external warehouses.

Back in December 2020, the Homag Group had announced investments of over €12 million for the modernization of the plant at the Schopfloch location. The largest part of this investment sum is accounted for by a hall extension.

“We are pleased to have the Schopfloch location significantly strengthened and upgraded,” emphasizes Carmen Hettich-Günther, Group Chairwoman of the Works Council at Homag GmbH. “We very much welcome the holistic solution now planned. This is very good news for all employees here in Schopfloch.”

New buildings are also to be constructed in Poland, where the Homag Group already employs over 700 people. Ralf W. Dieter: “The Polish market has been growing for years, and in the meantime, we have reached the limits of capacity at our present location. In addition, the Polish plant plays an important role in our global production network. That is why we are building a new plant in Środa starting in the second quarter of 2021.”

Opens branch in India

Salice is accelerating its internationalization and positioning itself with Salice India in one of the most exciting and promising markets of this world. The office is located in Thane, just a few kilometers from Mumbai, the financial, economic and commercial center of the country.

The geographically strategic position and the good infrastructure of connection with different parts of the country will provide fast after-sales service and ensure reliable deliveries.

In just a few months, Salice has been able to consolidate its position in Europe with the establishment of Salice Portugal in August 2020.

Salice India is the eleventh subsidiary of the company outside Italy.

New subsidiary opened in Sweden

Due to the growing business in Sweden, Ima Schelling has established its own subsidiary. Ima Schelling Sverige will be available to customers in the Scandinavian country in the future.

“With the office in Sweden, we want to optimise our proximity to the customer,” says Maximilian Lehner, Sales Director at Ima Schelling and Managing Director of the new location in the Småland region. After Ima Schelling has already been able to install several larger projects in Sweden in the past and further larger orders are on the horizon for the future, having its own service base was the next logical step in order to be able to supply customers faster, more efficiently and with more know-how. “With our own specialists on site, we can provide even better support, especially for complex systems,” Lehner confirms.

Ima Schelling Sverige will take care of service, procurement of spare parts and maintenance for domestic customers. For this purpose, the company has office and storage space at its disposal. This subsidiary is the 14th in the world – and the first in a Scandinavian country.

Egyptian company awards follow-up contract

Back in September last year, Nile Wood, a subsidiary of Egypt Kuwait Holding (EKH) with which the investment company will enter the wood-based materials production business, ordered a complete MDF line from Dieffenbacher for its new site in Sadat City, Egypt. Now Nile Wood will add a chip cleaning line to the order.

“The overall plant competence coupled with the know-how and experience in chip cleaning convinced us to entrust Dieffenbacher with our new project as well,” explains EKH CEO Sherif El Zayat. “We are pleased to support Nile Wood in the production of high quality MDF by ensuring that plastics, glass, stones, metals and all other possible impurities are removed from their raw material,” adds Jochen Kamm, Head of Business Unit Recycling at Dieffenbacher

After many wood recycling plants for particleboard production, which the Wood and Recycling Business Units have successfully implemented together, Dieffenbacher is now supplying a wood cleaning plant for MDF production for the first time with the order from Nile Wood. In addition, the Recycling Business Unit has also already developed plant concepts together with the plant specialist Business Unit Composites. Only recently, a US customer ordered a plant for the efficient and economical production of thermoplastic components from 100 percent recycled material.

Commissioning of the Nile Wood MDF complete plant, including chip cleaning, is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022. Assembly is scheduled to begin in June 2021. Under full load, the MDF plant will reach an annual production capacity of 200,000 m³.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) has appointed Mr. Asger Strange Olesen to a newly-created role of Chief Climate and Ecosystems Officer.

An accredited global sustainability veteran, Mr. Asger Strange Olesen has been working on climate change and the bioeconomy since joining the European Commission in 2011. Mr. Olesen was most recently Technical Director, Climate Change, Ecosystems and Livelihoods services at global consultancy group, COWI.

I believe, forest certification and ecosystem markets can reinforce each other and create synergies for land owners, forest users, governments and society as a whole. I am honoured to be joining FSC in this exciting new role, and look forward to work with all stakeholders, ecosystem market actors, network partners and all of FSC to make the climate and ecosystem services programme a success.”

Retrofits two Finsa production lines with glue saving systems

Finsa, a pioneer in the manufacture of particleboard and MDF on the Iberian Peninsula, is purchasing four glue-saving systems from German machine and plant manufacturer Dieffenbacher for two production lines in Nelas, Portugal.

Two “Projet” systems will help reduce glue consumption in MDF production. Another “Projet” and an “Evojet P” will be used in a line that produces boards with a particleboard core layer covered top and bottom by MDF surface layers. The ”Projet” will be used in surface-layer gluing, whereas the “Evojet P” will be deployed for the core layer.

“We’ll achieve high glue savings in both our lines with the Dieffenbacher glue-saving technology, so that our investment will pay off very quickly,” said Sérgio Filipe, Technical Manager at Finsa. “Our previous projects together and our experience in the pre-project phase convinced us that Dieffenbacher is the right partner to help our retrofit project in Nelas move forward,” he added.

“Projet” is an MDF blow-line gluing system that delivers resin savings of up to 15% compared to conventional blow line technology. It’s applicable for both UF and MUF resin. With “Projet”, MDF manufacturers can produce board surfaces with fewer resin spots.

In particleboard production, the “Evojet P” will help Finsa reduce glue consumption. Special two-component nozzles atomize the glue into fine droplets to create a homogeneous resin distribution. This enables resin savings of up to 15% in the core layer.

Installation and start-up of the four Dieffenbacher glue-saving systems are scheduled for late summer.
