Building at the headquarters in Schopfloch
The Homag Group is investing over 12 million euros in the modernization of its plant at the Schopfloch site. The largest part of the investment sum is for a hall extension. This will enable the company to concentrate work at the Schopfloch plant for which halls are currently rented in the surrounding area.
The main part of the investment comprises a hall extension measuring around 6,700 square meters as well as surrounding measures such as a bypass road, parking spaces and outdoor facilities. With the hall extension for assembly and shipping, the Homag Group is bundling previously decentralized activities at the Schopfloch plant and intends to dissolve its previous external locations for assembly and reduce external storage space. In addition, investments will be made in the modernization of important production machines at the plant.
Marco Huber, spokesman for the management board of Homag GmbH: “With the new hall, we will save costs for rent and transport. Above all, however, we expect the new building to optimize workflows and processes and improve the flow of materials within the plant. At the same time, the investments are a clear commitment to the Schopfloch site.”
The groundbreaking ceremony and thus the start of construction is scheduled for April 2021. Completion is scheduled for the beginning of 2022 at the latest, and commissioning of the new hall is planned in stages in the first half of 2022.
