"Interzum 2021"

Possibility of free cancellation until the beginning of February

Two-thirds of the space is already occupied, and the second “Early Bird” for early bookers will run until the end of September. Exhibitors can therefore reserve their stand space at a preferential price until 30.09.2020.

So the “Interzum” in Cologne is already picking up speed, and it is clear that the industry is eagerly awaiting the event. They want to meet again, exchange ideas and use the established platform to present their innovations.

In addition, the trade fair offers its exhibitors a special security: “We make it possible for all exhibiting companies to cancel their participation in ‘Interzum’ free of charge up to three months before the start of the event,” emphasizes Maik Fischer, Director of the world’s leading trade fair for the supply industry. “Until February 3, it is possible to cancel your participation again without giving reasons. In this way we want to give our exhibitors maximum flexibility. Because due to the current general conditions, it could otherwise be difficult for many companies to decide to participate right now.

In addition, there is the possibility of withdrawing from his trade fair presence until the first day of the fair for certain reasons, such as sudden travel restrictions.

“We have never given this much flexibility before,” Fischer continues. “By the way, this also applies to the other events organized by Koelnmesse. Here we simply see ourselves as service providers for our customers.

The “Interzum will take place from 4 to 7 May 2020 in Cologne.

Livestream of the surface conference of the year: booking now open

The surface event of the year takes place on September 21/22 in Mainz. The b2b networks “möbelfertigung” and “arcade” invite you to the first “Surface in Motion – Technology & Design Conference”. After the Corona-related shift from May to September and the simultaneous unbroken interest in our event, we changed location early and moved to the (even) larger Kurfürstliche Schloss Mainz. And yet, unfortunately, not all interested parties who are currently on the waiting list will be able to attend – because security always comes first.
The good news: If you didn’t get a ticket and still want to be there, you can do it virtually. Since today, registrations for the livestream are possible. The four keynote speeches will be broadcast on Sep 21st. On Sep 22nd, registered users can switch between the “Technology” and “Design” sessions at their whim. Both livestreams will be broadcast exclusively in English.

You can book here.

Recognized as one of the 50 Sustainability & Climate Leaders worldwide

At Rehau, closed value chains from product design to recycling are a reality. For decades, the company has been developing sustainable approaches across the entire value chain and putting them into practice. This commitment is now being honored by Rehau’s inclusion in the “50 Sustainability & Climate Leaders” series – an initiative of the video production and media company TBD Media Group with the support of the United Nations, among others.

Since the earth’s resources are finite, responsible use of them and sustainable approaches play an important role in companies. The “50 Sustainability & Climate Leaders” campaign draws attention to precisely these and offers companies a stage to present their commitment to an international audience.

“As a family business, Rehau thinks long-term and takes its responsibility for future generations seriously,” emphasizes William Christensen, CEO of the Rehau Group. “Being one of the 50 Sustainability & Climate Leaders is a real incentive for our 20,000 employees to continue on the path to greater sustainability and climate protection. In concrete terms, this means that we want to become a pioneer in environmental services.

By 2025, the Group plans to increase its recycling rate across the Group to well over 15 percent and at the same time reduce CO2 emissions by at least 30 percent. “For us, sustainability is a philosophy that is reflected in three central values: Trust, reliability and innovation. We want to develop technical progress that improves lives,” emphasizes Dr. Veit Wagner, Vice President of the Rehau Group and member of the Supervisory Board. In production, up to 88 percent of CO2 emissions can be saved by using recycled materials compared to new materials. In addition to the resource-saving production of durable polymer system solutions, Rehau focuses on the high-quality processing and reuse of post-consumer and post-industrial materials. Wherever the company is active – from the furniture and construction industries to the automotive industry – it already develops and produces high-quality products from recycled materials.

By signing the UN Global Compact in May 2020, the Group also clearly committed itself to responsible corporate governance and sustainability. “With all our divisions, we continually evaluate our sustainability strategy,” emphasizes Christensen. “And we are constantly developing it further.

Belongs to the “TOP 50 Sustainability & Climate Leaders” for the United Nations

Sewing thread is everywhere. It is used across a majority of industries and can be found in all kinds of products. However, each year approximately 92 million tons of textile waste is generated around the globe, of which only a small percentage is effectively recycled – with the rest ending up burned or in landfills. Amann Group is aware of the need for greater sustainability in the textile industry and pioneering ways to effect positive change across the industry. Hence, Amann entered into the United Nations Global Compact already in the beginning of 2019.

The United Nations (UN) have nominated 50 worldwide leaders in sustainability and climate protection – and Amann is presented on behalf of the textile industry. The UN have produced a short film for each of the 50 selected companies worldwide, illustrating the particular commitment of the respective company to sustainability and climate protection.

Today the fair opens in Shanghai

The 46th “CIFF Shanghai” begins today in Shanghai Hongqiao – an important sign of the recovery of the Chinese furniture market and the rapid return to normality of the reference fair. With the theme “Connecting the World” and the objective of creating a strong integration between the upscale Chinese domestic market and international markets, as well as helping companies to adequately face a rapidly changing market, “CIFF” will start its next round by September 10th.

Under the same roof of the National Exhibition & Convention Center (Shanghai), more than 1,000 exhibitors will represent the entire furniture industry on an area of 400,000 square meters: Home, outdoor and leisure furniture, home accessories and furnishing fabrics, office furniture and furniture for the service industry, materials and machinery for the furniture industry.

The Design Hall has been further expanded for the next edition: In addition to the main Contemporary Design sector (Hall 4.1), the furniture industry sectors with essential production technologies and all types of process machinery will be created, presented by renowned Chinese and international manufacturers.

Presence becomes a purely virtual event

Due to the recent development of Covid-19 infection figures worldwide and the resulting renewed tightening of travel restrictions, Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH has decided to hold the 2020 “Formnext” purely virtual under the name “Formnext Connect”.

Until now, “Formnext” 2020 was planned as a hybrid trade fair, i.e. with a physical part at the Frankfurt exhibition grounds and a digital supplement. This planning was based on the Corona Contact and Operating Restrictions Ordinance valid in the state of Hesse and a health and hygiene concept agreed with the City of Frankfurt am Main, the State of Hesse and Messe Frankfurt.

“The currently rising numbers of Covid-19 infections in Germany, Europe and around the world are leading to increasing uncertainty among exhibitors and visitors. Together with the renewed tightening of official and company travel restrictions, the otherwise highly international “Formnext” will no longer be allowed to be held in the accustomed quality,” says Petra Haarburger, President of Mesago Messe Frankfurt.

“We have been planning the ‘Formnext’ 2020 for months now, consistently and with the full support of our exhibitor advisory board, with the highest level of protection and safety for the health of our exhibitors and visitors. In doing so, we have approached the entire layout of the trade fair from scratch in the halls with all entrances, stands, paths and completely new stand packages, spacing and communication areas in accordance with the health and hygiene concept agreed with the authorities. Our disappointment at the end of the summer is all the greater now that we have to recognize that the course of the pandemic is destroying our efforts to make personal encounters possible again,” explains Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President Formnext, Mesago Messe Frankfurt.

In the course of the crisis, the additive manufacturing industry has clearly demonstrated the potential that lies in flexible, diversified and decentralized production. AM will undoubtedly be one of the leading technologies that will show the way out of the recession. It will play a major role in the development of new products, the design of resilient supply chains and the development of sustainable business models.

“An exchange between technology providers and users is absolutely necessary for this and we are now putting all our energy into the creation of a virtual ‘Formnext’, the ‘Formnext Connect’,” Wenzler continued. “It will be the central virtual platform for business and knowledge exchange for the global AM community by the end of the year. The exhibitor advisory board unanimously welcomes and supports this decision.

Formnext Connect” will start as a virtual event from 10.11.2020 and offer a wide range of digital services. These include exhibitor presentations in showrooms (products, information, videos, chat function, lead generation / lead tracking), intelligent matchmaking with all participants supported by AI, live streaming and on-demand transmissions of the supporting program and webinars as well as the scheduling/scheduling of online meetings with exhibitors. Further information will follow shortly.

Will supply real estate giant Vanke in China

The Kitchen Family of the Baumann Group can announce another success in China in its collaboration with the sales specialist Hermand Haus: Following the cooperation for the lifestyle brands “Doho” (burgers) and “Me” (construction format) last year, Burger has now joined the select circle of European suppliers that equip projects of the real estate giant China Vanke. The linchpin here is the cloud-based software HH Cloud Design, which Hermand Haus developed for furnishing residential units. The contract with Vanke is initially set for three years.

China Vanke is one of the largest real estate companies in the People’s Republic. According to the company’s own information, 639 projects have already been realized since its foundation in 1984 (as of the end of 2019). In a rigorous selection process, Hermand Haus has succeeded in establishing itself as a supplier of furniture from Europe, using the HH Cloud Design software introduced last year. It enables detailed planning of entire apartments using the furniture of partner companies, including Burger as a kitchen supplier.

Matthias Berens, Managing Director of the Baumann group, is delighted about the great success in China: “With HH Cloud Design, our long-standing partner Hermand Haus has created a digital masterpiece. The software brings designers, suppliers and customers together. Not only does it allow for vividly visualized planning, but also for purchasing furniture directly from the platform. We are proud to be Burger’s exclusive kitchen supplier for this great concept, which paved the way for Vanke’s projects, and thank them for the trust they have placed in us.

The selection process, in which Hermand Haus and Burger were able to establish themselves as partners for China Vanke, took about half a year. Now the manufacturer belongs to the select circle of 18 German and Italian kitchen brands that supply the real estate giant in China. The fact that Hermand Haus equips its properties using cloud-based software is a novelty.
