Schattdecor is investing in two additional impregnation channels at its Brazilian site in São José dos Pinhais. The surface specialist is thus expanding its on-site impregnation capacity to five machines. One channel is currently under construction, corona-related delays, the investment was already made in 2019, and will produce over a width of eight feet from the time of commissioning. The company expects completion in the first quarter of 2021, with an additional channel to follow due to the promising market potential.

Roland Heeger, Chief Technology Officer: “A fifth impregnation channel has already been ordered and is expected to be ready for production in the first quarter of 2022. The additional machine is also an eight-foot channel. This will enable us to increase our local impregnation capacity in line with market and demand”.

Flavio Lufchitz, Managing Director of Schattdecor do Brasil: “We currently have a production capacity of 160 million square meters per year, are planning sustainable growth and always have the best service for our customers in mind. The new investments will increase our production capacity to more than 220 million square meters per year. With the second resin reactor, we will be able to completely cover the demand for melamine through our own production”.

The second resin reactor was ordered in 2020 and is to be installed before the second new impregnation channel is commissioned.
