Schattdecor is expanding its portfolio with a 50 percent stake in Fine Decor. Through the merger, the companies are focusing on the symbiosis of long-standing decor and design expertise and an innovative, sustainable substrate in the form of recycled PET film. “We are joining forces to offer the industry a unique, promising and sustainable product that provides innovative solutions for demanding customer needs,” says the management of both companies.

Fine Decor produces and finishes sustainable PET-based uni-lacquer laminate surfaces for the kitchen and furniture industry. In doing so, the decorative film manufacturer has developed its own technology with a manufacturing cycle that makes it possible to produce a plain or decor-printed furniture surface from the recycled material. Even scrap is recycled back into the company’s own manufacturing process and fully processed. The sustainable surface is elastic and moisture-resistant and, due to its composition, offers an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional thermoforming sheets.

Schattdecor is thus expanding its product portfolio in the field of finished surfaces and will in future also be able to print and finish PET-based films. The first joint product will be marketed by both companies under the name “Fineflex”.

On the side of the film manufacturer Fine Decor, there is euphoria regarding the next planned joint steps and future projects.
