Pietro Gheller takes over the Wood Division
Pietro Gheller, who is already responsible for the woodworking division at SCM Group as Director Product & Markets, will take over the overall management of this division from Luigi De Vito, who will remain Managing Director of SCM Group.
Pietro Gheller was born in Vicenza 48 years ago, attended the International Business Program at the Stockholm School of Economics in 1997 and graduated in Business Administration from Milan’s Bocconi University in 1999. During his professional career since 2000, Gheller has worked as a strategic consultant and in management positions in sales, commercial marketing and supply chain for global retail groups in Italy and abroad in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Durable Goods and Industrial Machinery sectors.
Since 2019, he has been responsible for the Wood division at the SCM Group as Director Sales & Markets. In this role, he was responsible for the management and strategic direction of the Group’s more than 20 branches as well as for the entire operational sales network in Italy and abroad. Under his commercial leadership, SCM strengthened its direct presence in key markets by opening new locations in Turkey, India, South East Asia and the Balkans and entered into new strategic business partnerships in the field of wood processing systems, such as with the Swedish company Randek AB.
In 2022, Gheller became Director Products & Markets at SCM and also took over the management of the business units and the various technologies that comprise the Group’s wide-ranging offering for the entire timber construction industry.
He has been Director of the Wood Division business unit since April 11. In addition to technology and business development, he is now also responsible for managing the Production and Customer Care divisions.
“I would like to thank the Board of Directors and the management of the SCM Group for the trust they have placed in me,” comments Pietro Gheller. “For me, this is the culmination of a career in which I have acquired important skills in managing global teams and developed an increasingly strategic and results-oriented approach. I would now like to make this experience and skills available to the timber construction division in all my areas of responsibility. Although the macroeconomic conditions are not yet optimal for our industry, we can continue to rely on the strength of our team, the investments we have made and the financial solidity of the Group to secure further market share.”
