Register now for the worldwide unique “SCM Live Show”

SCM, a leader in the field of woodworking technologies since 1952, presents its technological innovations through new tools and state-of-the-art multimedia channels for all professionals and companies in the sector. This is the aim of the “SCM Live Show”, according to the Italians “the worldwide event of the year”, which will be held as live streaming from June 30th to July 2nd 2020. The online show is taking place because around the globe the most important events in the industry have so far been cancelled or postponed to the last months of the year due to the corona pandemic. Despite this issue, SCM intends to continue to provide its comprehensive support in terms of technology and know-how for the production and manufacturing needs of all woodworking companies, from large industrial to craft businesses, from furniture to windows and doors to carpentry.

As part of the “SCM Live Show”, the Italian group has put together a varied programme of live broadcasts and webinars. On all three days of the event, participants from all over the world will be able to find out about technological change via the Internet and, as in a live television show, will also be able to proactively contact SCM’s experts. From the “Technology Center” in Rimini and from other Group locations, they will explain the most important innovations in the field of woodworking processes and key market trends.

“We are experiencing a time of profound change. And SCM is transforming a challenge – the cultivation of customer relations – into a digital strategy,” emphasizes Luigi De Vito, Director of the Wood SCM Division. “This is what we have been working on for the last few months, using our digital tools and services to ensure all maintenance, support and training activities are carried out remotely. A worldwide unique event such as the ‘SCM Live Show’ is another building block of this. The technological innovation, which has always been a unique selling point for SCM with its powerful, flexible and advanced solutions, is flanked by a communicative and multimedia innovation to write a new chapter in the history of woodworking.”.

The numerous technological innovations that will be at the heart of the event, such as integrated cells and stand-alone machines for different applications, will meet the most varied production requirements of the second stage of woodworking: from the modernization of the wide range of machining and drilling centres for panels to the machining centres for solid wood and for wood construction; from the offers for flexible and J-shaped industrial edges to angular dividing saws; from the integrated surface treatment with the novelties in the pressing, sanding and finishing sectors to the latest solutions for packaging; from the specific technologies for window production and the integrated lines for door production to the solutions with double-end profilers and automatic planing and profiling machines. On show, as always, will also be the widest and world-leading range of machines for joinery, with a new specific cell for panel sawing, drilling and edge banding. Exclusively, a new app for the craftsman will be introduced.

The focus will be on the “Smart&Human Factory” for the furniture industry. This was presented with great success at the “Ligna 2019” and will be shown with new advantages during the live show of SCM. The aim is to increase the productivity and flexibility of panel processing, reduce scrap and waste and optimize the quality of the end product even with the most sensitive materials. The new version is just one example of the different configurations that can be used to tailor this production model to production requirements. It consists of flexible automated cells with a modular structure, integrated by anthropomorphic robots and interconnected by self-propelled intelligent shuttles.
