Orgatec and Orgatec Workspace Saudi Arabia under new management

Koelnmesse is positioning itself for the future with a new personnel structure: Maik Fischer, previously Director of Interzum, will also take over the management of Orgatec and the newly created idd cologne. Thomas Postert, who was most recently responsible for the successful realignment of Orgatec in Cologne, will in future head Orgatec Workspace Saudi Arabia.

Maik Fischer has already been successfully active as Director of Interzum, the world’s leading trade fair for furniture production and interior design, for seven years. With his extensive knowledge and experience in the trade fair industry, he will now also manage Orgatec and at the same time drive forward the development of the interior design days (idd cologne). The parallels in content and the close interlinking of these three events provide the ideal basis for Fischer to now also be responsible for the management of Orgatec in Cologne. The 46-year-old business graduate already specialized in trade fair management during his studies and gained valuable experience in marketing and sales in various companies. From 2015, Fischer was in charge of project management for the international trade fairs Feria Mueble & Madera, Andina, Pack and Alimentec in Colombia, before taking over Interzum in 2018.

Thomas Postert is taking over the position of Director of the newly developed Orgatec Workspace Saudi Arabia with immediate effect. Following the successful realignment of Orgatec last year, his focus is now on the global Orgatec portfolio and initially on the Saudi Arabian counterpart. The 51-year-old trade fair expert has held senior positions at Koelnmesse for more than 23 years and has made a significant contribution to the success and positive development of Orgatec with his expertise and strong industry network. He will now use his experience to successfully establish the new Orgatec Workspace Saudi Arabia format.
