Has acquired 100 percent of Decotec
Interprint, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of decorative surfaces for the wood-based panel, furniture and flooring industries, has strengthened its global market presence by fully acquiring Decotec Printing, S.A., Spain, thereby acquiring the remaining minority share of Financiera Maderera S.A. Interprint and Decotec are already part of the Japanese printing group Toppan, Inc. In the future, the Spanish production site will operate under the Interprint brand umbrella as IP Decor Spain, S.A.U.
IP Decor Spain will be the ninth production site in the global structure of the Arnsberg-based Interprint Group. This strategic expansion will enable Interprint to expand its portfolio and offer its customers a new impregnation and printing service. The production site in Spain will also enable the company to tap into the markets in the Mediterranean region as well as Central America.
Interprint also announces the appointment of Martijn Huisman as Managing Director of IP Decor Spain from the first of November 2022. He will succeed Juan Carlos Benito, who is taking a well-deserved retirement. Martijn Huisman has worked with Toppan since 2011 and has been involved in the development of new business areas and was a board member of Decotec.
Hideo Yoshikawa, CEO of Interprint, said, “We warmly welcome IP Decor Spain to our family and I am delighted to welcome Martijn Huisman to Interprint. He has an outstanding track record of leading high-performing teams across multiple business units and functions. His business acumen and knowledge of Toppan and our industry, as well as his experience as a leader, will be a valuable addition to our Interprint team. I would also like to express my gratitude to Juan Carlos Benito for his tireless dedication and wish him all the best for the future.”
“The acquisition will help us to further strengthen our leading position within the industry and to respond even more comprehensively to our customers’ needs in the future,” added Martijn Huismann.
Decotec was founded in 1997 in Tordera, Spain, and has developed into a recognized supplier of printed decorative surfaces and as a manufacturer of melamine resin impregnated films for the wood-based panel industry. By acquiring 100% of the shares, Interprint becomes the sole shareholder of IP Decor Spain.
