Expansion of the US subsidiary
The symbolic ribbon is cut. A few days ago, Schmalz opened the extension to its US site, almost two years after the groundbreaking ceremony. The expansion of the Raleigh, North Carolina facility created space for around 60 new jobs.
“This expansion is a real milestone and offers great added value for our customers,” said Dr. Kurt Schmalz, managing partner of Schmalz. “The U.S. is a market of extraordinary importance to us, so we look forward to the rapid development of our foreign subsidiary and anticipate further growth.”

Schmalz has been on a steep rise in the USA. The addition has increased the Raleigh facility’s square footage to approximately 8,000 square feet. Schmalz has invested a high single-digit million sum for this. Even before the expansion, the U.S. location, founded in 1999, was one of the largest within the Schmalz Group, with around 110 employees. Now, around 60 additional jobs are to be added in the future.
Schmalz is also pursuing its growth targets in other countries. For example, the sites in India and China were also significantly expanded last year through major construction projects. In addition, Schmalz will open another location in Bydgoszcz, Poland, before the end of the year. In total, the international Schmalz Group now comprises 29 locations worldwide with around 1,800 employees.
