SCM Group, a leading global supplier of technologies for processing a wide range of materials, has signed an agreement to acquire 51 percent of Mecal Machinery. Mecal Machinery specializes in the manufacture of machines and systems for processing aluminum, PVC and light metal alloys.

Mecal Machinery, based in Pavia, Italy, is a vertically integrated company that produces 100% in Italy. The company employs 190 people and has a turnover of EUR 45 million.

“The addition of Mecal Machinery to the Group,” emphasizes Marco Mancini, CEO of SCM Group, “gives us access to a new market segment and enriches our existing range of technologies and services. The partnership with Mecal Machinery, similar to the collaboration entered into in June with Tecno Logica in the field of highly innovative industrial plants, opens up important new business opportunities for us at an international level.”

Ennio Cavezzale, Managing Partner of Mecal Machinery, adds: “Joining a solid multinational company like SCM Group ensures Mecal a role as world leader in its sector by benefiting from SCM Group’s extensive and close-knit sales and service organization”.

Cavezzale will remain a shareholder of the Lombard company in the role of CEO.
