Moving into the future with a new manifesto
The European Producers of Laminate Flooring (EPLF) is proud to announce the publication of its latest manifesto, which outlines the association’s vision, priorities and commitments for the future of the laminate flooring industry. The manifesto, which focuses on sustainability, innovation and strengthening European manufacturing and housing, serves as a guiding framework to drive positive change in the industry – from encouraging innovation to promoting environmentally conscious practices.
EPLF members resolve to work together to achieve the following goals:
– Drive sustainable and innovative manufacturing processes for laminate flooring.
– Ensure laminate plays a central role in affordable and sustainable European housing.
– Invest in research and development with a focus on durability, design and circular solutions.
– Strengthen manufacturing in Europe, safeguard jobs and support the local economy.
Ruben Desmet, Chairman of the EPLF Board: “We are proud of the unified vision and ambition expressed by our members in this manifesto. We are ready to continue our advocacy, research and market development initiatives in the spirit of these principles and objectives – and in the service of promoting a resilient and future-oriented laminate flooring industry. We believe that we can make Europe greener, more sustainable and more circular if we are united in the vision of a sustainable, innovative and competitive laminate flooring industry – one laminate floor at a time.”
The EPLF also invites policy makers and interested stakeholders to support the mission and highlight the laminate flooring industry as a European success story. The manifesto calls on the EU institutions to prioritize the following initiatives:
– The future of housing should be “Made in Europe” through the upcoming Pan-European Investment Platform for Affordable and Sustainable Housing and the European Affordable Housing Initiative – where laminate flooring will be part of the solution.
– As energy is one of the main pillars of the European Clean Industry Deal, the laminate flooring industry is looking forward to concrete measures to ensure a reliable supply of clean and affordable electricity, which is crucial for the sustainability and competitiveness of the industry.
– The EU should strive to improve competitive conditions both internally by harmonizing national regulations and externally by protecting the industry from unfair competition from other products and regions.
By working closely with policy makers, industry representatives and consumers, the EPLF and its members underline their commitment to building a sustainable and circular future for the laminate flooring industry and the European economy in general.
