Home of Flooring expands with Interior Finishing

Domotex, the leading trade fair for floor coverings, is launching an expanded concept and establishing itself as the “Home of Flooring and Interior Finishing”. With six new product categories, Domotex will focus on a holistic approach to flooring and interior finishing from 2026.

In addition to the established areas of floor coverings, Domotex is expanding its portfolio to include: Ceramic tiles, wall and ceiling elements, paints and varnishes, wallpapers, outdoor coverings, sun protection and shading.

“Floor coverings are our DNA – and we will be demonstrating this in 2026 with an even more comprehensive range. With our new concept, we are taking account of the changing requirements of the market and creating synergies across all trades. Domotex will become a one-stop store for everyone involved – from the trade to craftsmen and architects. We offer a unique format that brings floors, walls and ceilings together and focuses on the entire interior design sector. We have already received strong interest from the industry and have been able to convince the first important key players. This positive response shows that we are on the right track,” says Sonia Wedell-Castellano.

In order to meet the needs of the industry even more specifically, Domotex is not only expanding its range of themes, but also offering new, customized formats for exhibitors and visitors.

In addition to the Green Collection, which focuses on sustainable materials, the new acoustics special show presents innovative solutions for optimum room acoustics for the first time – with modern materials and practical applications for architecture, planning and trade.

Domotex also focuses on targeted participation formats:

  • The Wall & Color Park brings together international manufacturers of paints, varnishes and wallpapers with relevant target groups from the retail, trade and architecture sectors.
  • The Retailers Park, a tried-and-tested format, offers retailers and specialist stores a platform to get to know new products and trends and strategically expand their product range.
  • With the Tiles Plaza in Hall 22, the ceramic tile sector will have a clearly defined stage within Domotex for the first time.
  • Architects Space – the hotspot for proven and new topics for all manufacturers who primarily target architects.
  • DIY Boulevard presents products specifically for the DIY store range.

These formats are complemented by the Mood Spaces, which bring current trends to life, and the Carpet Design Awards, which honor outstanding handmade carpets.

From 2026, Domotex will take place every two years. With the new cycle, Deutsche Messe AG is responding to the express wish of the flooring industry in particular, and the new cycle will also enable even more targeted planning and a stronger focus on innovations. The next event is scheduled to take place from January 19 to 22, 2026 at the exhibition grounds in Hanover. For the first time, Domotex will take place from Monday to Thursday – another deliberate decision at the request of exhibitors and visitors. While the weekend was an important anchor in previous years, especially for the retail trade, this has changed significantly due to changes in the market structure and work-life balance. Domotex remains the central meeting place for innovations and solutions for floors, walls and ceilings. With the new concept, Domotex is underlining its position as an indispensable trade fair for the international flooring and interior design market.
