As originally planned, “MEM Industrial-Tecno Mueble Internacional” will be held as a presence event at Expo Guadalajara from August 18 to 21, 2021. This has been confirmed by the organizing committee of “MEM Industrial-Tecno Mueble Internacional” (MEM-TMI), consisting of Hannover Fairs México and the Association of Furniture Manufacturers of Jalisco (Afamjal), together with the local authorities and Expo Guadalajara. Of course, there will be a strict safety and hygiene protocol for all visitors and participants.

According to Azul Ogazón, director of “MEM-TMI”, “the government of the State of Jalisco has supported the economic activities at Expo Guadalajara, on condition that events like ours implement a series of strict measures to protect the health and well-being of all participants. Over the past year, the Organizing Committee of ,MEM-TMI’ and Expo Guadalajara have been working together on health measures and protocols that meet the highest international standards, as well as new generation technologies that will allow us to protect the health of our visitors and exhibitors. Hannover Fairs México, Afamjal and Expo Guadalajara would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to contribute to the economic reactivation of the sector and the creation of business opportunities for the wood and furniture industry from August 18 to 21.”

Afamjal President Teresa Calderón Durán pointed out that the furniture sector is of great importance to the country in general and to Jalisco in particular, as it employs around 25,000 people and contributes significantly to the local economy. “Therefore, it is necessary to complement the furniture production chain with world-class machinery and production equipment, without forgetting the forestry sector, which also makes a significant contribution to the Mexican economy.”

“The new times,” added Calderón Durán, “call for new technologies and digitalization to serve a market that increasingly demands innovative products that can be delivered almost immediately. That’s why the furniture industry needs suppliers who can keep up with advances in the sector.”
