Will be moved from January to August
The “MEM Industrial” and the “Tecno Mueble Internacional”, originally planned for the end of January, will be held together for the first time from August 18 to 21, 2021. The venue is the “Expo Guadalajara” exhibition center. The partnership between “MEM Industrial” and “Tecno Mueble Internacional” was already agreed in February of this year, with the aim of combining the strengths of the two largest trade fairs for the wood industry in the country.
The “MEM Industrial” is Latin America’s leading trade fair for woodworking, furniture manufacturing and forestry. The “Tecno Mueble Internacional” is an important event for machines, raw materials and accessories for the furniture and woodworking industry, especially for the Guadalajara region. The region around Guadalajara is home to the most important furniture cluster in Mexico. Parallel to the two events, the “Expo Mueble Internacional”, the leading trade fair for furniture and interior design, is also held.
“The joint date of “MEM Industrial” and “Tecno Mueble Internacional” creates new synergies and offers great potential for the entire industry. It enables us to present the entire value-added chain of wood and furniture processing, from forestry, machinery and supplier products to focus topics such as Industry 4.0 and digitization, at a single venue,” emphasizes Christian Pfeiffer, Global Director “Ligna” & Woodworking at Deutsche Messe. “In addition, the postponement of the MEM Industrial in view of the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic gives the participating companies more time for their preparations and significantly greater planning security.
The venues of the new joint event, which is set to become the most important trade fair for the woodworking and furniture industry in Mexico and Latin America, alternate annually between the “Expo Guadalajara” and the “Centro Citibanamex” in Mexico City.
