Successful relaunch of Koelnmesse with 800 exhibitors and 100,000 visitors in China – With video

Excitement and great anticipation accompanied the start of the first Koelnmesse event since the beginning of the Corona crisis: The “Interzum Guangzhou” in China (27 to 30 July 2020) has shown that trade fairs with strict hygiene regulations and limited admissions, for example in the catering areas, are possible despite the pandemic – and that business is developing well. “The international participation was good considering the circumstances. Through digital business matchmaking, the exhibitors also reached those visitors who were unable to attend,” says Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse. “This encourages us in our efforts to organize trade fairs again in our Cologne halls as soon as possible. The success of the ‘Interzum Guangzhou’ gives us the courage to set the course for this together with our customers.
Interzum Guangzhou” was the first major platform for the international furniture supply industry in the second half of the year. More than 800 exhibitors from 16 countries and around 100,000 visitors took advantage of the opportunity to meet suppliers, customers and business partners in person again, to build and strengthen relationships and to get together again as an industry. “The most important thing in the current situation is that our customers feel comfortable and secure at our events,” explains Keith Tsui, Managing Director of Koelnmesse’s Chinese subsidiary. “As event professionals, we see ourselves in a position to create the appropriate framework conditions even in these times.
