Postponed to the beginning of October
The pandemic still has the world firmly in its grip. Messe Frankfurt has therefore decided to postpone “Light + Building” to the fall of 2022. The new date: “Light + Building Autumn Edition” will take place in Frankfurt am Main from October 2 to 6, 2022.
“We took our partners’ concerns very seriously and, of course, weighed up the business opportunities and risks. As announced in December, all options for a new date were put to the test. Fortunately, we succeeded in finding an attractive fall date and making it possible through internal rescheduling for Light + Building. This means that the prospect of a strong, international industry launch in Frankfurt in 2022 remains,” explains Wolfgang Marzin, Chairman and CEO of Messe Frankfurt.
In the discussions, significant parts of the industry reiterated the need for an international industry meeting point in Frankfurt before the end of this year. Daniel Hager, Chairman of the Electrical Installation Systems Association of the German Electrical and Digital Manufacturers’ Association (ZVEI), explained: “After the long break, the industry absolutely needs the new start in order to finally be able to present the many innovations in the future market ‘Sustainable Building’ – and to do so at the world’s most important platform of its kind, ‘Light + Building’. The new date from October 2 to 6, 2022, gives all participants sufficient planning time and enables personal exchange before the end of the year. We are already looking forward to seeing business customers and partners again and to a joint, successful autumn edition of ‘Light + Building 2022’ in Frankfurt.” This was also confirmed by Ingolf Jakobi, General Manager of the German Electrical and Electronic Trades Association (ZVEH): “Our industry is actively involved in the development of important future topics such as climate protection, digitalization, electrification and energy efficiency. In all these areas, there are a large number of innovations that we would like to present to our customers and introduce in personal discussions. It is therefore essential for the e-trades that the trade fair, as the most important industry platform, takes place this year.” Dr. Jürgen Waldorf, ZVEI Managing Director for Lighting, also agrees: “For the lighting industry, especially after the long break, it is important to exchange ideas in person and to meet at the most important German and international platform.”
For the “Light + Building Autumn Edition” the hybrid concept remains. In addition to the international industry meeting point in Frankfurt, participation is possible via the digital platform “Light + Building Digital Extension”. At the exhibition center from October 2 to 6, 2022, exhibitors will present an enormously wide range of products for integrated building planning. All power-carrying trades will be united here: from lighting and luminaire design, networked security and building automation to electrical installation systems, intelligent energy management and the providers of e-charging infrastructure.
