One billion euros in sales exceeded

According to preliminary figures for the fiscal year 2022 ended September 30, Stabilus has exceeded the sales threshold of one billion euros for the first time with annual sales of 1,116.3 billion euros. As a result, the company also exceeded its sales forecast of around EUR 1,070 million, which was raised in August 2022. After an already strong nine months, sales and earnings growth accelerated further in the fourth quarter. The Americas and APAC operating segments (regions) in particular contributed to this development, supported mainly by strong global growth in the Automotive Powerise business unit.

In the fourth quarter of FY2022, Stabilus increased its sales by 39.5 percent year-on-year to €320.3 million (Q4 FY2021: €229.6 million). Adjusted for currency effects, the increase in consolidated sales amounted to 31.9 percent. This means that fourth-quarter revenue is also significantly above the level before the pandemic began in 2019.

Stabilus thus increased the previous year’s revenue of €937.7 million by 19.0 percent, organically, or 14.2%, year-on-year. Adjusted EBIT of 156.2 million euros (previous year: 135.0 million euros) corresponds to an adjusted EBIT margin of 14.0 percent.

“In the current overall economic situation and global market turmoil, we not only fully met our forecast, but also exceeded our long-set target of a sales threshold of €1 billion,” said Dr. Michael Büchsner, CEO of Stabilus. “In particular, the strong growth of the Automotive Powerise business unit shows that we are technologically well positioned and that it is above all innovations that are charting the way ahead for Stabilus.”

For fiscal 2023, Stabilus expects sales of €1.1 billion to €1.2 billion and an adjusted EBIT margin in a range of 13 to 14 percent. The range of sales and earnings expectations reflects current macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties.
