Concluded 2020 satisfactorily and looks to the future
The difficulties of the global pandemic triggered by the coronavirus were unable to slow down Giardina Group. Despite all the circumstances, business for the Italian surface specialist was good and roughly on a par with 2019, with sales totaling 20 million euros generated in various international markets. Things went particularly well in America, Eastern Europe, France, Finland, Germany and Indonesia.
Despite all this, the past twelve months naturally involved a lot of effort. This was kicked off by the acquisition of De Stefani, with which the Group bought in further know-how in the field of edge and profile sanding machines.
The new subsidiary is also taking positive stock: In the last six months, the number of machines produced has quadrupled. This is a concrete sign that the market is currently investing in simple technology that significantly reduces manual work.
A successful year naturally also includes product innovations, which also took place at Giardina Group. 2020 saw the launch of both a patented system for the roll finishing of shaped surfaces, drying technologies with better performance and the new “Dualtech 420” spraying machine for high productivity.
In 2020, the “Giampiero Mauri Innovation Center” also celebrated its inauguration, the opening being a few weeks before the start of the pandemic. In addition, the global sales network was expanded to include new collaborations, for example in China and North America.
There will be no standstill in 2021 either: in a few weeks, work on the new department for the assembly of electric plates is to be completed. And the sales network is also set to grow once again.
