Change in management in Korea

In South Korea, Jooma Park took over the management of Vollmer Korea LTD. from the previous managing director Song Ho Hwang at the beginning of 2023. South Korea is a central market in Asia for the internationally operating sharpening specialist Vollmer – the Biberach-based machine manufacturer has been represented there for more than 30 years. Vollmer established its own site in South Korea in 2016.

Vollmer, the southern German sharpening specialist, has gained a new managing director for the Vollmer Korea branch in Seoul. At the beginning of the year, Jooma Park took over the management of the company from Song Ho Hwang. Song Ho Hwang was already working for Vollmer in South Korea in the early 1990s, at that time as a trader under the company “Palma Trading”. In 2016, Song Ho Hwang was instrumental in the establishment of Vollmer Korea and was responsible for the very successful development of the Seoul branch. He retired in March 2023.

With Jooma Park, an experienced expert and connoisseur of the Asian tool market is taking over the fortunes of Vollmer Korea. He joined Vollmer just over a year ago and has shown great commitment to his new role as Managing Director. Parallel to the change in the managing director position, the branch has moved into new premises in Seoul. A total of three employees are employed at the Vollmer site in South Korea.

“My goal is to sustainably expand the Vollmer sharpening machine business in South Korea and, in addition, to establish the offerings around our services and digital solutions even more strongly in the tool manufacturing sector,” says Jooma Park.
