The time has finally come: Today, the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta opens its doors up to and including Friday, August 9, 2024. Around two weeks earlier than at previous events, the Georgia World Congress Center will once again be welcoming visitors to the next edition of the International Woodworking Fair (IWF). Halls A, B, BC and C will be open to visitors from 7:30 a.m. (A) and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. respectively. The accompanying Education Conference Sessions will run from 9 am to 5 pm. The IWF Night At The Tabernacle is planned for Wednesday, August 7.

An integral part of the trade fair is the IWF Challengers Distinguished Achievement Award, which is presented every two years. Exhibitors are invited to submit their products in advance. The criteria are exemplary achievements in the development of products, services or manufacturing technologies and techniques that advance the industry. A nine-member jury – all recognized experts from the industry – examines and analyses each entry. There were a total of 92 submissions from 75 exhibitors in 2024, including many American applicants as well as many European companies, such as Biesse with the “Hydrogen Force System” for edge banding; the Felder Group with the “Preventive Contact System” safety device for sliding table saws; Fill Gesellschaft m.b.H. with its efforts to make ever better use of wood as a raw material; Häfele with several products, including the “Ixconnect UC 16/64” universal connector, Kundig with the “Eco Cleaning System” for intelligent energy saving during sanding and Weinig Holz-Her with its machine control system. Of the 92 ideas, 20 made it to the final round and the seven winners will find out about their award today, on the first day of the trade fair. All the winning products will be presented in the Challengers Award Gallery during the week of the fair. In addition, all 75 award contenders will of course be providing information at their stands.
