Luigi de Vito is the new president
At this year's Annual General Meeting of the Italian association Acimall, new elections were due: Luigi De Vito of the Scm Group from Rimini was elected President for the period 2020 to 2023, assisted by Marianna Daschini of Greda from Mariano Comense as Vice President. The assembled members also blessed the financial report of one of the most difficult years for Acimall and the entire global economy.
De Vito is Division Manager Wood at Scm Group and responsible for production, product development, sales and customer service. After studying business administration at the Luiss University in Rome, he gained some management experience abroad. Since 2008 he has been working in the woodworking industry. He joined the Scm Group in 2012.
In his inaugural speech, De Vito thanked outgoing President Lorenzo Primultini: "He has managed to lead the Association through one of the most difficult times in its history, without losing sight of the values that such an association must embody". Afterwards, the newly elected President introduced Vice-President Marianna Daschini to the members, most of whom were "on" digitally, and stressed the importance of a young female leader in this position. Daschini has been celebrating great successes as managing director of Greda for several years.
Most
recently, De Vito addressed the issues he has set himself for his term of
office: Promoting open dialogue between member companies and other
associations; focusing resources on strategic projects such as access to
credit, business development and supply chain initiatives; supporting and
developing member companies' brands; and creating an environment conducive to
the exchange of best practices in market strategy, sales and technology trends.
