The focus is on design
The dissemination of innovative ideas and international trends to increase design diversity in the Chinese furniture industry, the opportunity for international brands to provide an optimal platform for entering one of the world's most important furniture markets and the creation of a global furniture industry community without borders - these are the main objectives of the 44th edition of "Ciff" Shanghai according to Yang Huaweis, General Manager of China Foreign Trade Macalline Exhibition Co. Ltd.
The show will take place from 8 to 11 September at the National Exhibition & Convention Center in Shanghai Hongqiao and will host more than 1,500 exhibitors representing the entire value chain for home, office and outdoor furnishings, decoration and textiles for furniture and machinery for the furniture industry.
More than 150,000 visitors from 200 regions and countries from all over the world are expected, who can look forward to a wide range of new product presentations and design events on the theme "A Paradigm for Global Living".
The forum "Designed for Humans: From Alvaro Siza's Modernism into the Digital Future", organised by the "Ciff" and the Aedes Architecture Forum, is particularly worth mentioning. The special show is intended to be a meeting place for exchange and networking, where strategies in the fields of design and production can be deepened on a global level and, of course, in China. Seven world-famous architects will meet in Shanghai to discuss their visions of contemporary design: Alvaro Siza, Sou Fujimoto, António Choupina, Martha Thorne, Anouk Legendre, Philip Feng Yuan, Mario Carpo and Mette Ramsgaard Thomsen.
Further inspirations and reflections on Chinese design can be found by all trade fair participants during a visit to the "East Design Show", which presents sophisticated Asian design in a sophisticated way and creatively combines commercial aspects; as well as the "Design Dream Show", which aims to promote the international competitiveness of the local industry by showing trends in Chinese design.
In order to optimise the visit of the trade audience in terms of target groups and areas of interest, the exhibition layout of "Ciff Shanghai" 2019 was revised. Not least because it is increasingly a question of making international design even better known in China.
