Second digital printing machine to come this year
Schattdecor announces the successful acceptance of its digital printing machine Palis "2250", the prototype implemented together with the companies Palis and Rotodecor. In 2013, the world market leader in decorative printing set the course and technical parameters for industrial digital printing "Made by Schattdecor". Today, Schattdecor is the only industry competitor to produce industrially in a width of 2.25 metres.
With the acquisition of a further digital printing press at its headquarters in Thansau, the company is investing in the expansion of its digital capacities. Planning for the second system begins immediately and is to go into production as soon as possible. The cooperation with the long-standing partners Padaluma Ink-Jet-Solutions GmbH and Rotodecor GmbH, now united under the umbrella of Hummingbird Converting Solutions GmbH, will again be relied on.
"Not only the successful, final technical acceptance is proven: Digital printing has outgrown the prototype status", says Roland Heeger, Chief Technology Officer at Schattdecor. "Also the international Zuspruch of our customers with innumerable successfully converted projects shows: Digital printing is the ideal complement to gravure printing, supporting the economically sustainable product cycle in a customer- and demand-oriented manner and also creating space for innovative projects and designs. Another component in our One Source package. Unlimited Solutions".
The order is to be placed in 2019 after the technical parameters have been clarified. With the capacity expansion, Schattdecor continues to work on expanding its technological know-how. This now includes a complete package consisting of colour management, digital data handling, software for processing digital print jobs and automated adaptation of print data to customer-specific print jobs. The latest key data, such as a speed of up to 162 meters per minute at a width of 2.25 meters, will continue to be available in the future. "As the market leader, it is essential to understand the lead achieved as an order for further development. It is up to us to develop quantity-capable digital printing decors in order to further advance industrial digital printing solutions for our customers."
