Groundbreaking ceremony on the Lisdorfer Berg for the new plant in Saarlouis
Only one year after Nobilia, Europe's largest kitchen manufacturer, decided to build a new production facility in the Lisdorfer Berg industrial estate in Saarlouis, construction of the plant can now begin. This symbolically took place on 4 May in the presence of company owner Werner Stickling and Saarland's Minister of Economic Affairs Anke Rehlinger with the ground-breaking ceremony.
GwSaar, Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftsförderung, is responsible for the settlement and support of the largest industrial settlement in Saarland for a long time. Managing Director Thomas Schuck welcomed numerous guests to the ceremony, as well as the management of the kitchen manufacturer from Verl in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The ground-breaking ceremony marks the start of foundation work - the prelude to several planned construction phases. Production of kitchens is to begin in Saarlouis as early as 2020. In the final stage, more than 1,000 new employees will produce around 1,600 kitchens a day on a 140,000 square metre hall area, primarily for the French and Southern European markets. The timing of this final expansion stage will ultimately depend on market developments and Nobilia's further growth.
The further steps in the construction of the Nobilia plant are as follows: The earthworks and foundation work will be followed by the construction of the factory building in 2020. This means that the first machines will be delivered and assembly will begin. Once the production facilities have been commissioned, production of the first kitchens is to begin in 2020. Already today, the first employees, especially the future management personnel, are being trained in the two Verler plants. Further hires will be made in good time and according to the needs of the respective departments
