Acquires largest Czech "Solidworks" reseller
DPS Software acquires the Solidvision Group with headquarters in Brno and five other locations in the Czech Republic. Founded in 2002, the company generated sales of over 10 million euros in 2018 with 100 employees.
DPS Software started its own company in the Czech Republic in Ostrava at the end of 2018. Now the opportunity was seized to become by far the largest "Solidworks" reseller in the Czech Republic with the takeover of Solidvision.
Hynek Horák, Managing Director of Solidvision, is pleased because for him, "DPS Software was the clear favourite in selling the company. We have known DPS for a long time, the company cultures fit together perfectly. With the security and support of a large partner like DPS, we can further expand our leading position in the home market."
The Solidvision Group also includes the subsidiaries Solidcam CZ, Solidcon and Solidmachine.
Solidcam CZ is the distributor of the product of the same name in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. DPS Software, which already operates a strong Competence Center CAM in D-A-CH, can further expand and strengthen the CAM business.
Solidcon offers engineering services to the market and develops products for Czech and foreign companies using Solidworks as design software. In addition, prototypes and small series are manufactured for customers.
Solidmachine has developed 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines which can be used for example in the didactics market (technical universities, etc.) for training purposes.
Overall Solidvision brings an interesting product and service portfolio to the DPS Group, which can also be used successfully in other countries.
As the market leader in the Czech Republic and Poland, DPS has thus become the largest "Solidworks" reseller in Eastern Europe.
"With Solidvision we have gained an ideal partner for DPS. Our strategy of internationalization was further implemented with the acquisition of the company. We are very pleased about the increase in very well trained and experienced employees. This means that we can once again fully live up to our claim of excellent market development and customer service in the Czech Republic," says Dr. Thomas Rubbe, Managing Director of DPS Software GmbH, who was responsible for the acquisition on the part of DPS.
The transaction was closed on April 1st. As usual, the parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price or other conditions.
