Experience innovations live again at last

New start after corona-related break: From 21 to 24 June 2022, "Techtextil" and "Texprocess" will once again bring the technical textiles and textile processing industry together physically in Frankfurt am Main. These exhibiting companies and topics await the trade visitors:inside.

About eight months before the first Frankfurt edition of "Techtextil", leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, and "Texprocess", leading international trade fair for the processing of textile and flexible materials, around 900 exhibitors, including many organizers of joint stands, have registered for both events.

The number of registrations for "Techtextil" is currently around 85 percent of the previous event at the same time. To date, "Texprocess" has recorded around 70 percent of the registration level of the previous event.

"There is renewed movement in the sector and the need to exchange information about new developments and experience innovations live is enormous - whether national or international. Companies have faced unprecedented challenges in the last year and a half-plus of the pandemic. Many companies have completely repositioned themselves and at the same time launched innovations. They now want to exchange ideas about this with an international audience," said Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies, at Messe Frankfurt.

"In June 2022, ,Techtextil' and ,Texprocess' will allow us to look ahead. Pandemic dislocations and a commitment to sustainability are putting even more focus on flexible, digitally automated and sustainable production structures. Among other things, these will also be more regional than before," said Elgar Straub, Managing Director, VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies. "Adapted technological solutions exist and are increasingly in demand. The high registration numbers show the need for exchange."

Both trade fairs take place as hybrid events and, in addition to the physical trade fair offering with supporting program, include numerous additional digital offerings for exhibitors and visitors.

Whether it's the UN Decade of Action, which envisions the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals worldwide by 2030, the European Commission's Green Deal, which aims to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, or the German government's recently passed Due Diligence Act ("Supply Chain Act"), which makes companies liable for human rights violations in their supply chains: Sustainability is a key issue that also affects the textile and fashion industry, and one to which the sector can contribute a great deal due to its size and its impact on people and nature.

With "Sustainability@Techtextil" and "Sustainability@Texprocess", both leading trade fairs in June 2022 will focus on sustainability approaches of the exhibiting companies and institutions. Expert discussions complement the topic. Once again, the "Techtextil" and "Texprocess Innovation Awards" will also honor outstanding achievements in sustainability in the industry in a separate category.

Dynamic and diverse: the textile industry is on the move and textile startups are active in numerous future areas such as 3D design, blockchain, e-commerce or sustainability. For the first time, "Techtextil" and "Texprocess" will present international startups for technical textiles and textile processing in a separate area. The area complements the tried-and-tested "Young Innovative Companies from Germany" area, which is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and features young companies based in Germany that have been on the market for a maximum of ten years.

Young textile talents will also be the focus of the "Texprocess" Campus, where colleges and universities will be presenting themselves.

From cotton cultivation and water-saving dyeing processes to finishing: as timeless as denim fashion is, as numerous are the myths and facts surrounding its sustainability, but also as diverse are the innovations in the sector. With the Denim Future Factory (DFF), "Texprocess" 2022 will devote a thematic focus to the denim industry.

With the "Techtextil" and Texprocess Forums, visitors to both trade fairs will gain highly topical and multifaceted insights into a wide range of industry topics on all days of the fair.

Outstanding new and further developments in technical textiles, nonwovens and functional apparel textiles, as well as technologies and processes for processing textiles and flexible materials, will again be honored in 2022 with the "Techtextil" and "Texprocess" Innovation Awards.

With the 2022 edition, "Techtextil" and "Texprocess" will use the West Exhibition Centre of Messe Frankfurt for the first time, with Halls 8, 9, 11 and 12. With regard to the hygiene regulations applicable in each case, Messe Frankfurt is in close contact with the relevant authorities in order to ensure the best possible protection of exhibitors and visitors at all times.

With the shift to 2022, both trade fairs will also change their trade fair rhythm for the coming edition and permanently switch to even-numbered years. A new trade fair date has also already been set for 2024, from April 23 to 26.

Registrations for "Techtextil" and "Texprocess" are still possible.
