Moves from September to October
The "International Furniture Manufacturing Component Exhibition" (IFMAC), one of the most important trade fairs for woodworking machinery 2020 in Southeast Asia will start in October. Due to current developments surrounding the Covid 19 pandemic, the Indonesian trade fair company Wakeni (PT. Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur) and Deutsche Messe AG from Hanover are postponing "Ifmac" until 14 to 17 October 2020.
This means that the event, originally planned for September (23 to 26), will provide a somewhat longer period for further easing of the current pandemic restrictions. Indonesia has an internationally significant furniture industry, which plays an important role in the growth of the local woodworking market. However, Indonesia's manufacturing industry in particular is suffering greatly from the consequences of the current crisis. The Indonesian furniture companies need new technologies to adapt the quality of their products to the increased requirements.
"Ifmac 2020 is the most important trade fair for woodworking machinery in Southeast Asia this year. By postponing it to October, we are extending the period for possible relaxation of pandemic restrictions and giving both exhibitors and visitors more planning security and a little more time to prepare for 'Ifmac'," emphasizes Christian Pfeiffer, Global Director "Ligna" & Woodworking Shows at Deutsche Messe. "Together with Wakeni, we will definitely do everything we can to offer the best possible platform to find out about the current state of the art in woodworking technology - naturally with the then applicable distance rules and hygiene measures.
