Following the personnel cuts at Miele and BSH, the kitchen manufacturer Siematic is now also affected: The company considers restructuring to be unavoidable, as the “Westfalen-Blatt” reported on Wednesday, 12.06.2024, citing company spokesman J\u00f6rg Overlack. It is not yet known exactly how many people will have to leave the kitchen manufacturer, as the number is said to be made up of planned retirements and additional termination agreements. However, around 20 jobs would be needed to reduce the number of staff required, particularly in the commercial area in L\u00f6hne. Siematic has now confirmed this in an official press release.<\/p>\n\n
The company appears to be refraining from making redundancies for the time being. J\u00f6rg Overlack emphasizes that “prompt and respectful talks should be held, fair severance offers made and termination agreements offered”.<\/p>\n\n
The decision to cut jobs comes as a surprise, as Siematic says it is currently benefiting from a good order situation. In addition, the kitchen manufacturer and its Chinese owner are “continuously investing in location measures, state-of-the-art production technology and specialists with specific know-how”, as the company commented in the “Westfalen-Blatt”. Nevertheless, “economically optimized processes (…) for the necessary increase in competitiveness” made the job cuts necessary. This should be solved in a socially responsible way.
