Pre-impregnates are paper or textile materials that have been impregnated with synthetic resins in advance. These resins are often melamine or phenolic resins. In the furniture industry, this usually involves impregnated decorative papers. Pre-impregnation reduces production time, as the resin impregnation step no longer has to be carried out during the main process.
