Decor paper is a specially coated paper that serves as a carrier for decorative designs. It is used in the furniture industry to create attractive and protective surfaces on materials such as chipboard, MDF (medium density fibreboard) and HDF (high density fibreboard).
The paper is coated with resins (usually melamine or phenolic resin) in an impregnation plant. This resin coating ensures the necessary strength and durability of the paper. After impregnation, the paper is printed using special printing machines. Various printing techniques such as gravure or digital printing are used. The prints can be very detailed and realistic, which is particularly important for wood and stone decors.
