Since 9 a.m. this morning, the second day of the first event “Surface in Motion” 2021 of the networks “möbelfertigung” and “arcade” has been running at the Kurfürstliches Schloss in Mainz. The special: Today there are two parallel threads of lectures – depending on the preferences of the participants, they could choose between “Technology” and “Design”.

In the technology area, lectures by, among others, Dr. René Pankoke from Hymmen, Dr. Thomas Riedel from IOT, Ali Özyilmaz from MB Digitalprint and Dr. Matthias Schöpps from Nolte Lacke will focus on the latest developments in surface processing and production. This year’s clear thematic focus is on digital printing, coated finishes and polymer surfaces.

The Design section will be giving talks by Roberto Caspani from Cleaf, Claudia Küchen from Schattdecor, the interior psychologist Uwe Linke and the furniture designer Brigitte Steffen, for example, to give an insight into what end customers want and what will shape tomorrow’s interiors.

As a special treat for architects and interior designers, the congress was recognized by the Chambers of Architects of Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse each with 5 hours of lessons (interior design), and by the Chamber of Architects in NRW with 4 hours. Of course, we are striving to achieve similar results for the follow-up event in 2021.
