Surface Competence Center now newly equipped
To achieve optimal results in furniture and wood painting, many professionals from industry and trade have already used Croma Lacke’s Surface Competence Center. “Since opening in 2018, our consulting center has recorded more than two hundred successful test runs on the latest automated painting systems. With this solution-oriented customer service, paint systems can be specifically configured for efficient application technologies. Customization results in outstanding application solutions,” comments Alexander Kollat, Managing Director of IVM Chemicals GmbH in Herrenberg.
Now, at the start of a new, close cooperation with the renowned Italian coating machine manufacturer Makor, the equipment will be supplemented by further new system technologies. “We are pleased that we now have a German partner for the presentation of our equipment. This cooperation makes the paths much shorter and more efficient,” says Dr. Ing. Carlo Dolciami, Sales and Marketing Manager at Makor.
For the application-oriented live presentations, the Surface Competence Center now features Makor’s latest “S-One” automatic surface spraying machine with extensive equipment. This includes glass detection, small-volume container, gun sets in air-atomizing, airless and airmix as well as Kremlin pumps and application technology. In addition, a further expansion stage is being planned.
In combination with the Makor “Fastdry” drying channel and the Makor “Ultradry” UV dryer, all commercially available coating systems of waterborne 1K, 2K and UV coatings can be applied with this machine. Of course, this also applies to solvent-based systems.
Numerous application machines are available in the technical center for simulating a wide variety of surfaces. These include a 2-belt cylinder sander from SCM, roller application machine with smooth and grooved roller, trowel machine and “Floory” oil line with distributor unit for brushing and padding, and a UV dryer from Makor. Also two roller applicators, optionally with textured roller or sponge rubber rollers and distributor brushes for pickling, as well as a gravure printing unit with two printing rollers from Bürkle. This equipment enables IVM Chemicals to reproduce almost any application form for wood finishing in real terms.
The Croma Lacke brand offers a high level of consulting expertise on site in Herrenberg. Under the guidance of technical specialists, the paint and coating components of the innovative material systems can be tested on the latest coating machines. This allows efficient production of finishes in accordance with the current VOC guidelines to be tested here under realistic conditions. Every dryer situation can also be simulated, so complete test runs are possible. This has the advantage that no time is lost for adjustments during production. Furthermore, Makor’s technical center in Sinalunga, Italy, is also available to any interested party.
