Strategic investor Jamoo has taken over, Ralf Marohn is new managing director

On the home stretch: The takeover of Poggenpohl, according to the kitchen manufacturer the oldest kitchen brand in the world, by the strategic investor Jomoo Deutschland, a subsidiary of the Chinese Jomoo Group, is proceeding as planned. All contractual conditions have been fulfilled, so that the economic transition will take place on September 1, 2020.

“Poggenpohl will remain a German kitchen brand with production in Herford, which stands for sophisticated, modern design as well as high quality and reliability. Our customers can rely on the high brand promise. The jobs in Herford will be retained and the entire team of employees will return Poggenpohl to its old glory and strength,” announced newly appointed Managing Director Ralf Marohn (53) to the Poggenpohl team. The experienced manager is no stranger to the industry and has already been active as an entrepreneur for 28 years. Since 2014, he has headed the kitchen manufacturer RWK & Kuhlmann Küchen GmbH in Löhne, which was taken over from the bankruptcy. During this time Marohn has successfully restructured and at the same time expanded RWK & Kuhlmann Küchen.

Marohn expressed special thanks to the previous Poggenpohl Managing Director Gernot Mang for his good coordination during the transition. He also thanked the insolvency administrator Manuel Sack for his professional management of the company during the insolvency proceedings.

Attorney Sack, a partner in the nationwide law firm Brinkmann & Partner, said: “During the insolvency proceedings, I successfully continued operations together with Gernot Mang, and production continued to run stably on all working days. My sincere thanks go to our customers, suppliers and employees for this. Together, they trusted in a good future solution for this special company and actively supported us”.

Marohn also praised the high level of trust and loyalty that customers have shown to the Poggenpohl brand and its team. The employees in particular have been under enormous pressure since the beginning of the insolvency proceedings. “We are delighted that our customers continue to stand by Poggenpohl. This shows the close bond and firm belief in what Poggenpohl represents – in history and in the future.”

For the future, a strong focus on product design and product innovation is still planned. The further development of both continental European markets and regional overseas markets such as the USA, China, India and the Middle East will be a focus of investment. The network of existing branches and dealers will continue to grow in order to guarantee the high quality of Poggenpohl products and the best B2B customer service.
