Very high international participation

With a significant increase in visitors compared to the previous year’s result, “Logimat” 2023 closed its doors. During the three days of the trade fair, a total of 62,343 trade visitors (+25%) came to the Stuttgart trade fair center. This means that the current event even surpasses the pre-pandemic result of 2019. “A ‘Logimat’ of records,” states trade fair director Michael Ruchty of trade fair organizer Euroexpo GmbH, Munich. “The ‘Logimat’ 2023 achieved the highest visitor popularity since the trade fair’s inception. Together with the growth in international exhibitors, this proves that the ‘Logimat’ brand is firmly established as the world’s leading trade fair and a permanent fixture for future-proof design of efficient intralogistics processes.”

“Logimat” 2023

In the fully booked ten exhibition halls of the Stuttgart trade fair center, 1,563 exhibitors from 39 nations presented their latest developments and innovations for optimal material flows and efficient process management. 125,000 square meters of gross exhibition space used at the exhibition center offered international exhibitors a net exhibition space of 65,503 square meters (+8%). Already in the run-up to “Logimat” 2023, exhibitors reported more than 100 exclusive product premieres. Among them were world firsts and globally unique innovations such as the 3D ultrasonic sensor “Toposens Echo One”, which Meysens GmbH developed for acoustic detection and which was awarded “Best Product” in the category “Order Picking, Conveying, Lifting, Storage Technology”.

With the exhibits of the exhibitors and the proven supporting program, the “Logimat” 2023 covered the information and knowledge transfer for sustainable investments. These are aimed at automation, digital transformation and the integration of modern technologies such as robotics, sensor technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize in-house processes. In addition, solutions around the topics of sustainability and energy efficiency were the focus of exhibitors and trade visitors. The trade visitors used the trade show to initiate business contacts and to sound out the market among competitors. Visitors stated that they were specifically looking for automation solutions at “Logimat”, for example, to be inspired by new technologies and to evaluate potential cooperation partners. The exhibitors recorded correspondingly qualified customer contacts with promising project inquiries and cooperation agreements. According to the visitor analysis by the independent Basel-based market research institute Wissler & Partner, a high percentage of trade visitors came to “Logimat” with concrete investment intentions. This is confirmed by the numerous reported contracts signed at the 2023 show.

For example, the French technology company Exotec and general contractor Unitechnik announced a cooperation agreement. The Turkish robotics company Bottobo Robotics and Wiferion signed a contract for the delivery of inductive charging systems in the four-digit range. The hardware and software provider Ecovium agreed with Lux CT Transportlogistik to install software for transport and forwarding management. The contract signings underline the importance of “Logimat” as a job fair. Overall, more than 40 percent of trade visitors placed a bid or intend to do so immediately after the event. In this context, 84.2 percent of trade fair visitors assume decision-making functions in their company.

Once again this year, “Logimat” has further increased the degree of its internationalization. For almost every second trade visitor, the journey was longer than 300 kilometers. One in four traveled from abroad. A good ten percent of the trade show visitors came from overseas. Among the exhibitors at “Logimat” 2023, the share of international companies has grown to more than a third this year. A further indication of the international character of the event: among the 200 or so new exhibitors who came to Stuttgart for the first time this year, the proportion of international companies was almost 70 percent.

“The overall excellent result of ‘Logimat’ 2023 exceeds all expectations,” summarizes exhibition manager Ruchty. “Networking and direct transfer of information and knowledge between all the well-known developers, manufacturers and solution providers with a professional audience at record levels. In addition, contract signings on an international scale. This once again underpins the position of ,Logimat’ as the definitive industry platform for intralogistics and working fair for decision-makers.”

The next “Logimat” will be the edition in China, which will already be held in Shanghai from 14 to 16 June. From October 25 to 27, the “Logimat Intelligent Warehouse” opens its doors in Bangkok. The upcoming “Logimat” in Stuttgart will take place from March 19 to 21, 2024.
