Dural GmbH, based in Ettlingen near Karlsruhe, was founded in 2004 and is a subsidiary of the American company IFS Industries, Inc. The company produces and sells customised adhesive systems in Europe.

When developing the PUR edge banding adhesives, the focus was on easy processing and low cleaning effort as a wish of the customers. It should be an adhesive that is similar in handling to an ordinary EVA edgebanding adhesive, but with cross-linking properties.

The goal was therefore clear, even though it was not easy, since it is an edge banding adhesive that cross-links with air humidity. “Dura PUR UH 6156” is easy to process at 140 degrees Celsius, has a low viscosity (fast melting flow even at high feed rates/consumptions), an extremely high initial strength and low cleaning effort – no cleaning required even over an extended weekend.

At the customer’s request, a low emission and non-hazardous version has also been further developed. On this basis, the “Dura PUR UH 6193 Maxi PURe” was developed.
