Now trading as MHS
The last step in the transfer process has been completed: The Dutch system integrator Vanriet Material Handling Systems BV has been operating under the name Material Handling Systems, Inc. since January 1, 2020. (MHS). The American supplier of turnkey sorting and distribution systems has held 100 percent of the company shares in Vanriet since 2018. The Italian OCM SpA, which produces modular components and sorting technology for smaller sorting systems, is also part of the MHS family. With the completion of the integration of both companies, MHS now operates worldwide as a one-stop shop for material flow automation and software solutions. This means that customers will receive all products and services of the formerly separate companies Vanriet, OCM and MHS from a single source under a globally uniform brand identity. The expanded product range will be presented for the first time at the MHS trade fair stand at the “Logimat” in Stuttgart from 10 to 12 March 2020 in Hall 1 at Stand G05.
“The merging of the existing brands into a common MHS identity is an important step towards presenting our diversified product portfolio in a uniform manner and ensuring consistent customer service worldwide,” says Markus Augeneder, CEO of MHS International, who is responsible for MHS activities outside the USA. “Since becoming part of the MHS family, Vanriet and OCM have underpinned our corporate values of reliability, trust and innovation and supported MHS’ continued global expansion”.
With the establishment of the first office in Europe in November 2017 and the takeover of the Dutch Vanriet and the Italian OCM one year later, MHS has strengthened its presence in Europe and China. In the years that followed, the company then focused in particular on research and the development of new technologies. In selling its automation solutions, MHS benefited from the local knowledge of Vanriet and OCM.
Scott McReynolds, CEO and co-founder of MHS Global, also points out that the still booming e-commerce “places immense demands on infrastructure and material flow and handling. Accordingly, the integration of the two companies was also part of MHS’ strategic and operational corporate objectives of offering turnkey solutions with first-class automation technology from a single source worldwide. “With the rebranding, we are not only strengthening our position as a major player in the market, but also continuing our growth course,” says McReynolds.
