Live digital event on September 9.
SCM remains on track with live digital events to bring the Group’s new products to all customers worldwide – regardless of whether there are travel restrictions somewhere or other measures to combat the Corona pandemic. On September 9, the focus will be on “Superfici” machines. So it’s all about environmentally friendly and innovative surface technologies. The “Superfici Live Experience” starts at 9 a.m. and goes until 5 p.m., and in parallel with the digital events in six languages, a personal visit to the “Superfici Technology Center” in Villasanta (Monza) is also possible throughout the 36th calendar week by appointment.
Many individual presentations of the latest trends in painting are planned. This starts with sanding and extends to the most impressive effects that can be produced with new technologies on a wide variety of materials. In addition to Italian, English and German, customers can follow the demonstrations in French, Russian and Chinese.
The focus of the “Superfici Live Experience” will be, for example, on the new “Compact XL” injection molding machine of the latest generation with high-quality features. The panels painted with the “Compact XL” are subsequently further processed with the innovative excimer UV technology “Excimatt”. This ensures an exceptional super-matt finish, a silky-soft feel and unparalleled surface durability, as no matting agents are required in the product itself.
“Excimatt” ensures a mechanical microtexture of the applied coating layer. In this way, it is possible to replace the matting achieved by chemical additives, which usually reduces the scratch resistance of the topcoat layer.
The application of “Excimatt” is possible both in roller and curtain coating lines for the painting of flat surfaces, and in spraying lines for the surface treatment of shaped panels and edges.
Gloria Valtorta, Superfici business unit manager, explains: “Superfici has always been the surface specialist of SCM Group. Our mission is to meet the latest requirements of the painting market with state-of-the-art technologies. This involves both stand-alone solutions and solutions to be integrated into customer-specific systems. Definitely a great challenge, because we are talking about the first appearance, of a piece of furniture, a door or a window. Through continuous investment in research and development and the know-how of our experts in close cooperation with the other surface finishing technologies from SCM, we are always designing tailor-made solutions – much of which can be experienced at our digital event in September.”
