Hybrid event, other part of the fairground and parallel to “Heimtextil”
The two leading international trade fairs for technical textiles and nonwovens and for the processing of textile and flexible materials are looking forward to the coming editions from 4 to 7 May 2021 in Frankfurt am Main in a positive mood. With additional digital formats, a comprehensive hygiene and safety concept, new claims and a change of the exhibition grounds, both fairs are announcing changes.
From 4 to 7 May 2021, international suppliers of technical textiles and nonwovens, as well as of machinery for processing textile and flexible materials, will once again gather at “Techtextil” and “Texprocess” in Frankfurt am Main. Against the background of the worldwide corona crisis, Messe Frankfurt, as the organiser, looks forward to the coming editions.
“The current situation around Covid-19 also poses challenges for “Techtextil” and “Texprocess”. Although we expect the situation to ease up to the next editions, we cannot be certain. Therefore, we are planning both events on the basis of Messe Frankfurt’s current hygiene and safety concept. The number of exhibitor registrations and the feedback from the industry is very positive. There is a great need for personal exchange and to experience innovations live”, says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles and Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.
Techtextil and Texprocess will continue to sharpen their profile for the next edition with a realignment of communication. In a first step, both fairs will have new sub-lines. With immediate effect, Messe Frankfurt will communicate “Techtextil” with the addition “Performance. Function. Future” and “Texprocess” with “Technology. Efficiency. Progress.” This is intended to give greater expression to the dynamism and innovative strength of the sector.
There will also be innovations in terms of exhibition space allocation at both fairs. With the 2021 edition, “Techtextil” and “Texprocess” with Halls 8, 9, 11 and 12 will use the western part of the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre for the first time. The current situation around Covid-19 makes it necessary to continue to expect circulation at major events. The health of exhibitors, visitors, partners and employees is therefore at the heart of planning for “Techtextil” and “Texprocess” in May 2021.
Messe Frankfurt is working on the basis of a concept that includes detailed hygiene, medical and organisational measures. Hygiene, distance and fresh air supply are important factors in the concept, which Messe Frankfurt continuously coordinates with the relevant authorities. Exhibitors at “Techtextil” and “Texprocess” will receive information and recommendations for their trade fair presentation that comply with the current regulations.
Up-to-date information on Messe Frankfurt’s protection and hygiene concept can be found here http://techtextil.com/hygiene and here http://texprocess.com/hygiene. In addition, a Corona Hotline on +49/69/75756699 provides information on all trades and Messe Frankfurt’s measures for holding events during the Corona Pandemic every day from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In addition to the presentations of exhibitors at “Techtextil” and “Texprocess”, both fairs will once again offer a variety of fringe events, highlight themes and special formats. In addition to the planned physical formats, ‘Techtextil’ and ‘Texprocess’ will increasingly focus on digital supplementary formats for exhibitors and visitors. Among other things, live streaming of conference formats, new digital presentation options for exhibitors and opportunities for digital matchmaking between exhibitors and visitors are planned.
New: for the first time, ‘Texprocess’ will present the future of denim processing in a Denim Future Factory, with a special focus on sustainability aspects and the growing luxury sector for denim products.
In addition, the subject of sustainability will be expanded at both trade fairs by also highlighting, for the first time, products and sustainability approaches of exhibitors who, although not yet certified, promote sustainability in the sector. The “Techtextil” and “Texprocess Innovation Awards” also honour sustainable innovations. The range of products to be seen at ‘Techtextil’ will be rounded off by a new format of a fashion show on Smart and Functional Textiles. Techtextil and the Texprocess Forum bring high-ranking industry experts to the stage in lectures, workshops and panel discussions.
Techtextil and Texprocess will share the Exhibition Centre for the first time in May 2021 with Heimtextil, the biggest trade fair for home and contract textiles. The background to the postponement of the Heimtextil dates is the current situation in the wake of the Corona Pandemic and the associated international travel restrictions.
The trade fair normally takes place in Frankfurt am Main every year in January and, in 2021, offers the unique opportunity to present additional synergies along the textile chain at the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre at the same time in 2021, together with “Techtextil” and “Texprocess”. Thanks to the fact that the three fairs will be held in parallel, trade visitors to all three fairs will be able to gain a comprehensive overview of functional materials for home and contract textiles, right through to their processing. The trade-fair duo “Techtextil” and “Texprocess” with the “Hometech” segment already addresses the home textiles sector.
With a total of 1,818 exhibitors from 59 countries and around 47,000 trade visitors from 116 countries, the biggest ever editions of “Techtextil” and “Texprocess” took place in Frankfurt in May 2019.
