Expands woodworking portfolio with “Vietnamwood”

“Vietnamwood”, Southeast Asia’s leading trade fair in the field of primary and secondary woodworking, will be promoted and supported by Nürnbergmesse with immediate effect. Organizer Chan Chao International Co, Ltd. and Nürnbergmesse announced the agreement during “Holz-Handwerk” 2022 in Nuremberg and will work together for the first time for “Vietnamwood” 2022. “We are grateful to have won one of the world’s leading exhibition organizers with proven competence in the field of woodworking and wood processing for cooperation with Nürnbergmesse,” says Judy Wang, Executive Director Overseas, Chan Chao International Co., Ltd. This goes hand in hand with the integration of “Vietnamwood” into Nürnbergmesse’s Woodworking Events product family. The existing portfolio thus grows to a total of five events for woodworking needs. “With the exhibitions in Germany, India and now Vietnam, we offer our customers the leading platforms in the important markets for woodworking and processing,” says Petra Wolf, Member of the Management Board, Nürnbergmesse. “The ,Vietnamwood’ is a top exhibition in the Southeast Asian market and offers us great growth potential in the network of our previous Woodworking Events.”

Vietnam is poised to become the leading furniture manufacturing country in Asia. Demand for advanced manufacturing technologies and capabilities is high, and “Vietnamwood” is considered the industry’s most important sourcing and technology platform. The exhibition portfolio includes wood processing and surface treatment machinery and processes, tools, furniture accessories, raw materials and waste disposal technology, among others.

“The ‘Vietnamwood’ ideally complements the quartet of our Woodworking Events with the ‘Holz-Handwerk’ in Germany as well as ‘Indiawood’, ‘Delhiwood’ and ‘Mumbaiwood’ in India,” explains Stefan Dittrich, Exhibition Director at Nürnbergmesse responsible for the Woodworking Events product family, whose four own events are flanked by German joint participations in Brazil, Kenya, Ukraine – and Vietnam. Internationally, Nürnbergmesse is now expanding its commitment further within the framework of a bilateral sales and marketing partnership with Chan Chao International Co., Ltd.: “Our customers are already benefiting from the advantages offered to them when opening up new markets with Nürnbergmesse as an internationally experienced partner. We are also supporting the expansion of our presence in the future market of Vietnam with immediate effect with over 30 years of competence and expertise in staging successful woodworking exhibitions. We are very much looking forward to this new project,” says Dittrich.

“Vietnamwood” has been held in Ho Chi Minh City since 2001 – initially annually, and since 2007 every two years – and has in the past been able to increase all key figures relevant to success – whether in terms of exhibitors, exhibition space or visitors. The local wood and furniture industry has been growing in double digits for years and is investing at a high level; furniture production has been showing annual growth rates of 15 percent since 2005. As a result, Vietnam is now one of the world’s leading exporters of wooden furniture, with the woodworking and processing sector playing a key role in the Vietnamese economy. “The market thus offers great potential for solution providers from Europe,” Dr. Bernhard Dirr, Managing Director of VDMA Woodworking Machinery, as co-organizer of “Holz-Handwerk”, also welcomes the expansion of Nürnbergmesse’s international activities: “We are pleased that the member companies in the Woodworking Machinery Association will also receive the best possible advice and support from Nürnbergmesse for trade fair participations in the Vietnamese market.”

The 14th “Vietnamwood” will take place – after a pandemic-related break in 2021 – from October 18 – 21, 2022 at the SECC-Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City. The next scheduled date will be in the fall of 2023. For more information, visit www.wood-working-events.com
