DOMOTEX Middle East 2024  |

Ends with great success

After three spectacular days at the Dubai World Trade Center, DOMOTEX Middle East 2024 closed its doors on Thursday, April 25 with great success. More than 100 exhibitors presented their products and innovations to an international audience.

The event, which was opened by Dawood Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, attracted industry leaders and stakeholders from around the world. A wide range of products and designs were presented at the trade fair, providing a glimpse of the future of floor coverings. The success of DOMOTEX Middle East 2024 demonstrates Dubai’s strategic importance in the global trade landscape and its ability to drive innovation and growth in the flooring industry. Over 100 exhibitors came together at the event to present the latest trends and shape the future of the industry. The five countries with the largest exhibition space were Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Egypt and China.

Sonia Wedell-Castellano, Global Director of DOMOTEX at Deutsche Messe AG, thanked the UAE: “We are grateful to the UAE for the opportunity to create DOMOTEX Middle East, a platform that promotes visibility and growth for the global flooring industry. The dynamic trade environment in Dubai has been instrumental in the success of this year’s show.”

This year’s event was characterized in particular by the diversity and quality of the exhibitors. Heritage Carpet by Ghanbarinia, for example, attracted a great deal of attention with the presentation of 45 extraordinary antique handmade carpets. The exhibition was in line with the UAE’s leading initiatives to promote culture and featured hundreds of unique carpets from the Ghanbarinia collection, the largest of its kind in the world in terms of quantity and quality. Another highlight of the exhibition was the presentation of museum-quality antique carpets worth 500 million dollars. Some of them dated from the 17th to 19th centuries and lent the exhibition historical depth and cultural significance.

With the Design Lounge, True Design and Moooi Carpets have created a creative and stylish center full of innovation. The synergy between first-class design and craftsmanship, created by furniture from True Design and carpets from Moooi Carpets, demonstrated the aesthetic and functional appeal of the lounge. Every detail was carefully selected and every element precisely placed to create a harmonious ensemble that goes beyond mere furnishings and illustrates the art of beautiful living.

The 600 m² masterpiece from the Tabriz Premium Silk Warp collection showcased the unrivaled craftsmanship and quality of handmade rugs from the Middle East, impressing visitors with its intricate design and outstanding craftsmanship. Ryser Böden also brought a unique product to DOMOTEX Middle East in the form of “Bog Pearl”. The bog oak hardwood floor is made in Switzerland from trees that are between 3000 and 7000 years old. Bog oaks are rarer than diamonds. Floors made from this special wood offer a rich history and unparalleled beauty, making them the perfect choice for Dubai’s most discerning residents. The intricate parquet design, made up of ellipses, promises to be a unique and eye-catching addition to any luxurious space.

Standard Carpet, the largest carpet manufacturer in the United Arab Emirates, complemented the list of outstanding exhibits with its latest sustainable solutions, highlighting the company’s continuous efforts to reduce its environmental impact while realizing high-quality and innovative designs.

“The overwhelming success of DOMOTEX Middle East 2024 reflects the dynamic and resilient nature of the global flooring market,” says Sonia Wedell-Castellano. “We are proud of the outcome of this edition and look forward to building on the success of the DOMOTEX brand. The event provides a stage for showcasing exceptional products and offers valuable networking opportunities for professionals from around the world.”
