Another order from Thailand
In April the Metro Ply Group and Siempelkamp signed the contract for the supply of a new supply of a new particleboard plant with “ContiRoll” of the ninth generation at the Surat Thani location in the south of Thailand. This is already the fourth joint project. The scope of supply includes the forming and press line including “ContiRoll”, board handling andintermediate storage. The Siempelkamp subsidiary Büttner is contributing the energy plant and the dryer.
Pallmann, the size reduction specialist within the Siempelkamp Group, will supply the complete portfolio of size reduction machines for the particleboard production – chipper, flaker and double-flow mill.
The current order marks the second one placed with Siempelkamp within 18 months by Metro, one of the largest wood-based material producers in Southeast Asia and the largest particleboard producer in the region. Back in October 2019, the Thai company placed an order for a new forming and press line for an MDF plant at the Kanchanburi location. This MDF plant went into operation on time in April 2021 despite the corona-related challenging situation. The assembly start of the newly ordered particleboard plant is scheduled for early 2022.
“We are pleased to have supported Metro with our plant concepts for almost 20 years now, and now to start a new phase of our cooperation with the current order,” says Henning Gloede, Managing Director Siempelkamp Singapore.
