Acquires Carmet Automazioni and Blumenbecker Engineering System Technology
With immediate effect, IMA Schelling takes over the specialized companies Carmet Automazioni and Blumenbecker Engineering System Technology and can thus offer its customers an even larger portfolio of automation, handling and transport solutions.
IMA Schelling has made a name for itself as a specialist in machine and plant engineering for the wood, plastics and metal processing industries. The company’s automation and handling solutions and batch size 1 machining technologies are valued worldwide. With the takeover of an Italian and a Polish specialist company, the IMA Schelling Group now complements this offer for its customers even further. IMA Schelling thus continues to strengthen its strategic goal of becoming the number 1 contact for automation solutions in the furniture industry.
Carmet Automazioni, from Treviso in northern Italy, has been designing, manufacturing and distributing technologies for industrial automation and handling for over 50 years. The company’s offer, for example for cutting with a multi-blade saw, ideally complements IMA Schelling’s portfolio. The company, with its talented 30-person team, is now part of the IMA Schelling Group, but will continue to operate under its established name and Carmet will also continue as a brand name.
Previously operating as a business unit of the international Blumenbecker Group, Blumenbecker Engineering System Technology, based in Katowice, Poland, specializes in consulting, project planning, design, software development, system integration and switchgear construction. The company is firmly established as a leading expert in automation and robotics solutions in Poland, with a remarkable record of product innovation and customer satisfaction. And thanks to a partially identical customer base, it harmonizes ideally with IMA Schelling. Blumenbecker Engineering System Technology with its approximately 60 employees will remain an independent company and will operate under the name IMA Schelling Polska Automation in the future.
“With the acquisition of these two highly specialized suppliers, we are continuing the development that began in 2016 with the merger of IMA Klessmann and Schelling Anlagenbau to form the IMA Schelling Group,” emphasizes Managing Director Maximilian Lehner. “The benchmark for our strategic decisions is always the benefits we can offer our customers. And we are pleased to now be able to provide our customers with an even broader product range and even more in-depth expertise with our new partners.”
