A great success both live and online
The 49th “CIFF Guangzhou” was held in two phases, from July 17 to 20 and from July 26 to 29, at the Canton Fair Complex in Guangzhou Pazhou. It welcomed more than 2,500 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions and 139,574 trade visitors to a total exhibition area of 510,000 square meters. Eight thematic exhibitions and over 130 conferences and forums were held. For the first time, “CIFF Guangzhou” was also held online and recorded 50.19 million visits.
The first phase was dedicated to the world of living: from home furnishing and decoration for interiors to outdoor living. Major companies exhibited at “Home Furniture”, including 70 design brands that had not participated in “CIFF” in the past five years.
Among the numerous events, the “CMF-Trend Lab” interpreted the market trends in this context in the form of four workshops: “Digital Post-mankind Lab” focused on the virtual economy and the digital framework; “Unbalance Lab” developed the themes of well-being in the post-covid era, the innovation in food and the focus on zero emissions; “Nation Oriented Lab” focused on innovation in traditional crafts, the redefinition of the oriental spirit and the activation of industrial materials; “Body Shaming Lab” focused on the growing role of women in the economy and the resulting changes in consumer decision-making. Around 50 design studios actively participated in the “D2M Lab”, a platform for exchange between designers and manufacturers.
The exhibition area “Homedecor & Hometextile” presented new trends on interior decoration: home accessories, lighting, decorative elements and artificial flowers to enrich any kind of ambience. Outdoor & Leisure dealt with the outdoor lifestyle, showing increasingly select solutions for extending quality and comfort to the outdoors as well.
The second phase focused on the world of work and public spaces, as well as the technologies required for the furniture industry. “Office Show” showcased industry leaders with smart and sustainable workplace design solutions that improve productivity, well-being and safety. Much space was also devoted to commercial public spaces, healthcare and senior living facilities, and schools.
“2030+ International Future Office” (IFO ), with the theme “Hyper Dimensions,” analyzed the workplace in the three dimensions of time, space and wisdom to explore a new model of the work environment and new trends in office equipment. Renowned brands such as Steelcase, Koenig+Neurath, Lamex, Sitland, Magis, Estel, Rexite, Gan, Aurora, Sunon, Tom Dixon and Linak participated in the design exhibition jointly organized by “CIFF” and China National Furniture Association.
“CIFM/interzum guangzhou 2022” offered visitors a full range of technology and semi-finished products for the furniture industry. Renowned Chinese and international brands of machinery, materials, finishes and hardware gave a convincing response to the needs of an ever-growing industry that relies on the most innovative solutions to generate quality through production optimization.
The next “CIFF Guangzhou” will be held from 18 to 21 and from 28 to 31 March 2023.
